Cass puts down the café menu after they've both ordered and smiles at Thea. A new café has opened up in her hometown - the green forest scenery considered more home than her birthplace in Kalos - so she's of course had to try it out with one of her best friends! "I'm really excited to see what this tart is going to be about ... it's definitely an interesting combination, to put cucumber and caramel, salted, together ..." And one she'd be up for - she's really adventurous when it comes to food.

"But you also mentioned you have a gift?" she says, not able to contain her curiosity as she does her best not to look around, see where Thea could have hidden a present ... well, her bag's a good start, for sure. But what could be in there ... "I actually have one for you, too!" she then adds with a grin, revealing her card now at last, too. It's ... honestly something she just grabbed on her way, but it's still fairly pricey and high-quality to count as a valid gift, she thinks. And it's also on-theme with the season! Hah!

As always, Jon is seated on the table on Cass' side, enjoying a glass of lemonade just like Martin who's sit-floating next to Jon. The Trubbish is waving at Thea's pokémon, but Martin seems to engage more with them while Jon is in the background. Glimmer, the Glimmora, is also chatting up whoever would be up for it, while Dermot is fully engrossed in the cookie that Cass has already gotten for him. It's one large cookie and thus has to be treated with the utmost care, else it would vanish into tiny pieces before its time ...

Cass' Furfrou Kordel has stepped a bit away from the table, with the Silcoon Philomena fashioned into her hairstyle today. The dog-pokémon is showing the bug-type around, walking around the outdoor café area idly with the Silcoon wrapped up on her head fur like some really strange, but oddly fashionable headpiece. (The first time Cass has found Philomena in Kordel's hair, she's been dead-worried she'd have to keep those seperate forever, but gladly, it seems that when there's intent in Philomena getting all tangled up in Kordel's fur, the two actually got along super well.)

Thea chuckled at Cass' words and choices. "It is sure your type to do this kind of order. I'm sure it will be tasty, but feel free to have some of my stuff too~" She offered. Thea went safe, getting a strawberry cheesecake and some tea, nothing too out of ordinary.[break][break]

At the mention of the gifts, her smirk only grew, though she was caught by surprise at the reveal that Cass actually had prepared something to her too. "Wait, really?" Thea widened her eyes seeing the card, nearly bulging out of her eyesockets. "Cass!" She squeaked, then pressed her lips shut, looking around to see if anyone was looking at them. "I-Isn't it too expensive?" Thea's cheeks flushed. She was flattered, really, but she didn't want her friend to spend so much on her.[break][break]

Almost feeling like the egg she was keeping in her bag twitched in reaction to her emotions, Thea cleared her throat. "Well... About mine..."[break][break]

She shuffled her bag, pulling out something roundy wrapped gently on a very soft clothing. "I've been working with some Egg delivery lately, and they decided to give me something that I thought you would like..." Thea's smile grew a bit as she revealed the tip of the Pokémon egg, that was still covered by the clothing as if it was a blanket.[break][break]

"You can also have a bite of mine if you want!" Cass readily offers Thea, too, not really aware that other people would consider any food combination abnormal. It's all just tastes and textures mixing together, and really, she's way too open for experimentation there.

She grins contently at Thea's reaction to her gift, or the first part of it. "Don't worry about that, it's actually just a bit more pompuous than it strictly needs to be ..." she waves her hand. She's never had any worries regarding money, and she would, at least for the moment, not start having some anytime soon. She'd figure out the hardships of money soon enough.

"Open it, open it!" she urges for Thea to unfold the card itself, but she quickly stops her chants as Thea herself is starting to reveal her own gift. She frowns, wondering - egg delivery as in- Her breath hitches. "Huh- oh what?!" she squeaks in surprise, gaining the attention of the other customers. She quickly quietens, but looks at the partially revealed egg in awe. "Are you serious?" she asks.

It's strange how being gifted an egg feels heavier than being simply gifted a pokémon.

"Don't mind if I do!" Thea laughed, grateful for Cass' offer. She decided to not question about Cass' gift too much either, which would make her sound rather rude. She felt like maybe it was too much, but if her friend was ready to spend so much on her, Thea needed to try to step it up when gifting her. "I see, thank you a lot, Cass." She smiled.[break][break]

When Cass urged Thea to open the card, she chuckled, especially when she was already revealing her own gift. "Wait a little, one surprise at a time~" She tried to slow Cass down.[break][break]

"And... Yes." Thea nodded firmly. "Very serious! I'm not sure if you have ever raised a Pokémon since they were an egg, but I've heard it can be a very fun experience." She smiled widely.[break][break]

Cass lets the second reveal of her gift be, mostly because she is also way too busy fawning over the egg that would be hers. "You've never raised a pokémon from an egg either, right? Are you sure you want to gift that one to me?" she asks in awe, reaching out to touch the egg.

It's warm, and for now, it's also unmoving. But, it's alive ... and soon, it would hatch into a pokémon. A small little creature ... "Do you know what kind of pokémon will hatch?" Not that she has any doubts that she'll love it with all of her heart.

"Yeah!" Thea chuckled. "You know, you are the good one at raising Pokémons here. I'm fine with having a few, I don't have space for many." As much as she would like raising a Pokémon from zero, which she kinda did already albeit in a different way, she thought that her bestie would have a much easier time on it.[break][break]

Besides, it was a gift.[break][break]

"No idea. I don't have the history of this egg, but we could try researching the shell pattern to figure it out?" Thea wondered. Eggs had several looks, since all Pokémons laid eggs.[break][break]

Cass flushes with a pleased smile on her face as she hears the compliment, patting the Trubbish in her lap with a grin. "Hearing you say that means a lot," she replies, and nods. "We could always see about raising it together, too! Make it a duo thing kinda," she adds as she puts a hand on the warm egg, patting it gently.

"Oh, that's a good idea! Hmm, let me see if there's a good site on the internet ..." she ponders, taking out her phone at the same time at which the waiter returns with their ordered dishes. "Or maybe we'll postpone that for a moment ..."

"Hehe..." Thea chuckled, rubbing her neck and looking at the flushing Cass with a bit of flushing cheeks herself. The suggestion of growing one egg together, however, did poke Thea's curiosity.[break][break]

"That... Isn't a bad idea. I've never raised a Pokémon with someone else." She pondered, looking at Cass and smiling warmly. "With you it just feels right though. I am down." Thea decided, if Cass was actually up to it, that is.[break][break]

When the food finally came, Thea grinned to Cass. "Guess it will stay a mystery... And well, it isn't bad, right? It makes it a bit more fun, not being sure of what will come out of it." Her eyes rested on the egg, but it didn't take long for their attention be locked on the food instead.[break][break]

Forking her strawberry cheesecake, she chomped it and after swallowing, she inquired— "How do you want to raise it together though?"[break][break]

"Me neither!" Cass smiles at Thea's words, "It'll be a first for both of us." She grins as she thinks of them co-parenting this new little baby together, whatever it might turn out to be ... she's really curious. But, as the food arrives, she's not curious enough to ignore the dishes put onto the table.

"True! I really can't wait to see what it might be," she grins, already quite enamored with the idea of the egg and raising a little creature. She's not really considering age when it comes to adding pokémon to her ever growing team, but raising an egg is definitely another level of exciting there. Thea does raise an important question, however, as Cass takes a bite of her own cake.

"Good point ... I think we can see about taking turns taking care of the egg, and then later ... hmmm. Should I just move in with you and Knight?" she jokes - it's something she'll never be able to do (until maybe after graduation, but she's really not sure what her mom might think of that). "We'll figure something out, I'm sure!"
